metabolic typing

And body type

questionnaire

  • MM slash DD slash YYYY
  • There is no 'one size fits all' approach to nutrition and weight management which is why some diets work but not others. This is due to many factors but often include your metabolic type and your body type. Both can be explained by the way your body reacts and metabolises macronutrients (protein, fat and carbohydrate) which you ingest from food and drink.

    Why does this matter?

If you eat less calories than you burn, you will most likely lose weight. However, counting calories will only tell you so much. For example, if you’re not eating the right calories for your body type it is possible that you'll burn muscle as fuel too. Maintaining muscle is imperative to successful weight loss and weight gain because dense or bigger muscle requires more fuel to burn meaning you'll use more calories at work, rest and play. It's not just calories we need to focus on, it's also where they come from. 100 calories of an avocado (fat) will yield a totally different metabolic response to 100 calories of a doughnut (carbs).

Please take your time to consider the following questions. Choose your body type based on what you are naturally rather than what you have become. There is no right or wrong answer. Accurate information is required to estimate macro-nutrient percentage for you.

  • Please select the body type at the bottom of the following five descriptions

  • -Naturally thin with skinny limbs and delicate frame.
-Light build with small joints and lean muscle mass.
-Shoulders tend to be thin with little width and chest tends to be flat.
-Fast metabolism that burns up calories quickly and find it hard to gain weight.

  • -Tall build and lean with more muscle mass than an Ecto but less than a Meso.

-Thin with a small delicate frame and bone structure.

-Medium shoulders with a flat and defined chest.
-Relatively fast metabolism that burns up calories quickly and find it hard to gain weight.

  • -Naturally athletic physique, large bone structure and muscles.
-Rectangular shaped, hard body with well defined muscles.

-Find it easy to gain muscle and lose weight easily.

-Gain fat easier than ectomorphs so must watch calorie intake.
-Respond well to weight training and body building.

  • -Naturally solid, slightly less abdominal fat than Endomorphs.
-Round physique, relatively broad shoulders, stocky build, thick arms and legs.

    -Strong muscles, especially legs.
    - Relatively defined chest.
    -
Gain muscle and fat very easily.

    -
Medium to slow metabolism makes it easy to gain weight.

  • -Generally soft muscles.
    -Round physique.
-Short and stocky build, thick arms and legs.

    -Strong muscles, especially legs.
    -

Slow metabolism makes it easy to gain weight.
